Welcome to Downingtown Troop 23!

BSA Troop 23 has been helping youth around Downingtown walk their "Trail to Eagle" since 1965. Over that time, the world and advancement requirements have changed, but Troop 23 has maintained it's goal to instill and instruct ways to "Be Prepared" for all that life may bring.

Troop 23B is an active troop for boys, participating in monthly camping trips, regular service projects and yearly Summer Camp and High Adventure experiences. In 2019, Scouts BSA allows for the creation of girl specific Troops. We also have chartered a girl specific Troop -  23G. 

If you are interested in becoming involved in Scouting and part of Troop 23, please e-mail us or better yet join us at Central Presbyterian Church (100 W Uwchlan Ave, at the intersection of Rt 113 and Pennsylvania Ave), in Downingtown, PA for our weekly Troop meeting, Thursday nights from 7:30 - 8:30pm.

Highlights:

  • Eagle Project Fundraising: Benjamin Plichta is organizing a clothing drive to raise funds for his Eagle Scout project. He is accepting wearable clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, bedsheets, towels, stuffed animals, small hard toys, and bikes. Please place all donated items into tightly tied plastic bags and bring them to Troop Mtgs on 5/7 or 5/14. {You may also drop things off at his home}

2026 Flower Sale Sign-ups

Scouts & Parents,


Below is the link to sign up for time slots, for each Scout and their parent, to staff our Flower Sale. This is our biggest and most important fundraiser of the year. This effort funds a large portion of our budget. It includes our purchase of camping supplies, propane, tents, stoves and other expenses. Everyone needs to sign up for at least one time slot. It would be a great help if you can sign up for two time slots. We are also looking for volunteers to help with the set up and tear down of canopies, signs and tables - there will be a separate sign-up for this. Don't forget, for those who cannot participate there is a troop dues surcharge.

Troop 23 Sweatshirts

Troop 23 Sweatshirts are available to purchase and order here!

While receiving the red Troop neckerchief means you are a member of Troop 23, nothing is more identifiable and sought after than the Troop 23 sweatshirt!

There are several style options for Youth (green with white 23B or purple with white 23G) sweatshirts as well as Leader (gray with green), but the pullover hoodie seems to be the most popular. Please note: purchase of a sweatshirt is not required.
