Welcome to Downingtown Troop 23!

BSA Troop 23 has been helping youth around Downingtown walk their "Trail to Eagle" since 1965. Over that time, the world and advancement requirements have changed, but Troop 23 has maintained it's goal to instill and instruct ways to "Be Prepared" for all that life may bring.

Troop 23B is an active troop for boys, participating in monthly camping trips, regular service projects and yearly Summer Camp and High Adventure experiences. In 2019, Scouts BSA allows for the creation of girl specific Troops. We also have chartered a girl specific Troop -  23G

If you are interested in becoming involved in Scouting and part of Troop 23, please e-mail us or better yet join us at Central Presbyterian Church (100 W Uwchlan Ave, at the intersection of Rt 113 and Pennsylvania Ave), in Downingtown, PA for our weekly Troop meeting, Thursday nights from 7:30 - 8:30pm.

Summer Camp Care Packages

Posted by bblankmeyer on Jun 15 2026 - 6:59am
Parents:

In case they have forgotten anything or need a mid-week pickup, we will send a car load of care packages down to camp on Wednesday, June 25th.  Homemade cookies or brownies, a note from home, small toys or games, powdered drink mix tubes and any little treats that might make your son's day are good choices.

Packing guidelines
The car is usually filled with boxes.....
- Please do not send open bags, boxes or trays. ALL care packages for the boys should be in small boxes that can be closed and stacked.
- Most important --- Please clearly mark the outside of the box with your child's name.
- No drinks! - Bottles of Gatorade and canned drinks do not travel well and can cause damage to your son's package as well as others.

For the leaders, an extra batch of whatever baked goods you send your child or a bag of chips are great choices. The leaders volunteer their time and use their vacation to be with our boys so let's send them some goodies too. These items should be in bags or small containers that I will pack into a larger box for the leaders. Please mark them appropriately.

Packages can be dropped off:
- At Thursday's Troop Meeting (June 18th)
- At CPC on Sunday as the Troop heads to camp
- At the Blankmeyer's, before Tuesday evening (568 Westwood Drive, Downingtown). Someone should be home, but you can leave the package on our front porch. If you plan to drop off Monday or Tuesday, please email to let me know.

If you have any questions, please reach out.
