Welcome to Downingtown Troop 23!

BSA Troop 23 has been helping youth in Downingtown and Coatesville walk their "Trail to Eagle" since 1965. Over that time, the world and advancement requirements have changed, but Troop 23 has maintained it's goal to instill and instruct ways to "Be Prepared" for all that life may bring.

Troop 23B is an active, medium-large troop for boys, participating in monthly camping trips, regular service projects and yearly Summer Camp and High Adventure experiences. In 2019, Scouts BSA allows for the creation of girl specific Troops. Central Presbyterian Church agreed to add another charter for a girl specific Troop 23G. 

If you are interested in becoming involved in Scouting and part of Troop 23, please e-mail us or better yet join us at Central Presbyterian Church (100 W Uwchlan Ave, at the intersection of Rt 113 and Pennsylvania Ave), in Downingtown, PA for our weekly Troop meeting, Thursday nights from 7:30 - 8:30pm.

    • Campership support is available via the Signup portal and requests will be responded to by 4/1.

December Highlights: 

  1. December 13: Wreaths Across America! 11 AM @ Hopewell UMC
  2. December 14: All leadership will need to be at the PLC meeting @ 7 PM  
  3. December 18: Troop Meeting to be at PARC @ 7 PM - 8:30 PM

Future Activities:

  1. January 24-26: Klondike Derby!  This is a cold weather camping trip and there is an option for a day trip or weekend camping. Please see Mr. Powell with any questions.

Notes from November 20 Troop 23B Meeting

  1. NO Troop Activities on Thursday, November 27th for Holiday.
  2. December 4 - Personal Fitness is meeting at 6:30 PM prior to Troop Mtg.
  3. Pay your national and council dues ASAP
    • Troop 23B dues are $75 per Scout, and must be paid by November 30, 2025.
    • You can pay Meghan Hoffman at any meeting (cash or check — make checks out to Troop 23), or conveniently pay online using the link to Pay Online Here (Note: a 3% processing fee applies.
  4. William’s Eagle Project needs more people to sign up. Please sign up with Mr. Powell for the virtual tour of his church.
  5. December 5-7: ILST - Any scout in a leadership position and/or any scout interested in a leadership position that is 1st class or above should attend.  If you have a question whether you are supposed to attend or not, please see Mr. Powell. Fun activities and leadership opportunities are available for sign up.
  6. December 14: All leadership will need to be at the PLC meeting.  
  7. December 13th: Wreaths Across America! Please let Mr. Barnard if interested
